Applicants with a Criminal Record
Applicants with no previous arrests / cautions / convictions do not need to provide additional documentation at the application stage.
Applicants with a past arrest / caution / conviction of any type other than a minor road traffic offence must submit additional documentation within their application.
- If you have previously obtained a Police Reply / CRB Check that details the offences, please submit 4 photocopies of this document with your application.
- If you do not have a Police Reply or a CRB Check, you must apply for a Police Reply Subject Access Form 319 and submit the original and 3 photocopies with your application. Information on obtaining the form for applicants living in London can be found here: http://www.met.police.uk/information/request_forms.htm
Applicants from other parts of the UK should visit http://www.met.police.uk/links/index.htm and click on the relevant link, or visit their local police station to obtain the correct application form. The Police Reply may take a number of weeks to process, therefore applicants should allow plenty of time to obtain the form. - You will also need to provide a covering letter with your application fully explaining the nature and circumstances of your caution / arrest / conviction.
- Unfortunately the Japanese Government will not issue a visa to any person with a caution / arrest / conviction for any kind of drug offence.
- All successful applicants are required to submit a Police Reply in April / May. Any discrepancy between information provided in a candidatefs application and this document will result in automatic disqualification from the JET Programme.
