Application Outline
Preparing an application for the JET Programme can be somewhat time-consuming so applicants are strongly advised to allow plenty of time to do this. Applicants are advised to carefully read the guidelines listed below in order to prepare their application.
The UK JET Programme strongly encourages applicants to use the online application form. This can be found on our homepage from late September / early October until the closing date for applications on the last Friday of November. In addition to completing an application form, applicants must supply a number of pieces of supporting documentation, all of which are essential. Applicants are advised to start collating the required material well in advance of the deadline. Please be aware that incomplete applications without the necessary supporting documentation cannot proceed to the screening stage.
It is the responsibility of applicants to ensure that their application is complete before submission.
All applications must be submitted to the JET Office at the Embassy of Japan in London - this also applies to applicants wishing to be interviewed in Edinburgh. You can either send your application or deliver it by hand to the Front Desk of the Embassy. Please collate four application packs following the order listed below and separate each pack using a paperclip or plastic wallet. Additional materials should be separate from the four packs. You should send / submit all four packs and the additional materials to the JET Office in one large envelope. We strongly recommend that you use a recorded delivery service if sending your application in order to ensure that it reach us safely.

If you know you will be unavailable at any time during the interview period, please enclose a short letter of explanation with your application.
