In order to apply to the JET Programme in the United Kingdom, you must hold a UK passport. If you are not a UK Passport holder but wish to apply for the JET Programme, please contact the Japanese embassy or consulate in the country for which you hold or are eligible to hold a full passport. Please see this page for a list of countries currently sending participants on the JET Programme. For a comprehensive list of contacts for Japanese embassies and consulates around the world, please see: http://www.mofa.go.jp/about/emb_cons/over/. Unfortunately, the UK JET Desk is unable to accept applications from those holding other EU passports.
2. Will you hold a Bachelor’s degree in any subject in the July before departure?
It is a requirement of the JET Programme that you hold at least a Bachelor’s degree by the time of departure. You may of course apply if you are in your final year and expect to graduate in time. Unfortunately, work experience, foundation degrees, NVQ certificates, TEFL certificates or any other type of qualification cannot be used instead of a 3 or 4 year Bachelor’s degree.
3.Have you lived in Japan for six or more years out of the last ten?
